Tasting Notes: The first taste of harvest 2021 is all savory with Martha's moodiest Patatino Nouveau to date. This hazy expression of Pinot and Petite Sirah drinks more like a slightly wild Poulsard than the richer fruit of Nouveau’s past, but is no less jubilant. Patatino’s lightweight body, bright acidity, and slight spritz keeps you lifted from Nouveau day to summer.

Winemaking Notes: The 2021 Patatino is a blend of freshly fermented, whole cluster and lightly macerated Pinot Noir from Dicesare Vineyard, and whole cluster, carbonic Petite Sirah from Bricarelli Ranch. The wine aged briefly in barrel, finishing malolactic fermentation. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered. Total SO2 equals 22 mg/L.

Vineyard Notes: Dicesare Vineyard is located in Redwood Valley, Mendocino County. This organic, dry-farmed (non-irrigated) vineyard is located next to Hawkeye Ranch (Martha's Honeymoon Chardonnay) and farmed by the same family. Bricarelli Ranch (fka Benson Ranch) is located in Mendocino County. Planted in 2005, this dry-farmed (non-irrigated) vineyard is farmed by the Martha Stoumen team. They use only organic products; no pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic fertilizers.
