Fruit Source: The Lucien Crochet Sancerre is a blend of several estate lieux-dits and purchased grapes in Bué, Vinon and Crézancy. Fruit is harvested by hand in mid-late September. The average vine age is 25 years.
Winemaking Notes: The Sauvignon Blanc grapes are pressed upon arrival. They do not see any skin contact. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine sits in contact with the fine lees for around 6-7 months. Racking takes place late in the spring following harvest. The wine is fined and filtered before bottling.
Tasting Notes: The estate's village-level offering ties pungency of fruit and concentration of flavor to the minerality and herbaceous qualities that make its Sancerrois origins unmistakable.

"Expressive aromas of gooseberry, basil and lilies. Medium-full with excellent depth of fruit, notes of snow pea and green tea. Rich finish, excellent persistence. Textbook Sancerre flavors; superb complexity. Enjoy over the next 5-7 years. Fine value."
