Vineyard Notes: Grapes for the 'Amauta' Tannat come exclusively from El Porvenir's Finca Río Seco vineyard, so named for the river that borders the vineyard which is dry all year except in the summers. The vineyard sits at 1700 meters above sea level and is composed of mostly sandy soils.
Winemaking Notes: Grapes are harvested by hand. During harvest, a double selection line is used to ensure only the best grapes make it to the tanks to be fermented. Due to Salta's remote location, everything (bottling, labeling, etc.) is done at El Porvenir's winery located in downtown Cafayate.
Tasting Notes: Intense ruby red in color with hues of violet and black. Aromas of spices with notes of eucalyptus, figs, and menthol. Ripe tannins, balanced acidity, and refined structure create an intense wine with freshness and complexity. Due to the wine's structure, this wine can age for up to 6 years.
