Winemaking Notes: Sourgal Moscato is Perrone's flagship Moscato. Perrone's vineyards are northwest-facing. He believes that ripeness is easy to achieve if yields are kept reasonable. The vineyards cool down faster in the evening, and retain more acidity and freshness. The vines are 25-60 years old with an average yield of 40 hL/hA. The grapes are both estate sourced and purchased. They are harvested by hand. Sourgal is released in late November for immediate consumption. Moscato's virtue lays in its exuberance, explosiveness, and brightness. Best if drunk young to better catch all its vigor.

"A creamy textured Moscato that offers outstanding length and finesse in its classic varietal notes of crisp green apples, mint, flowers and spices. Simply put, this is as good as Moscato gets."

"High-toned aromas of orange peel, marzipan and ripe peach are bright and fresh. Very sweet, thick and luscious, featuring bright flavors of orange marmalade, peach and lime complemented by lemon zest. As glyceral and broad as this is, a suggestion of orange peel bitterness and plenty of mouth-coating but silky extract give it plenty of inner-mouth energy."
