Belles Lettres is made by Boutinot. Boutinot's dedicated product managers (including two Masters of Wine) work hand in hand with experienced and highly talented winemakers and blenders. The Southern Rhône has been an area of great value to Boutinot, having built an excellent network of local growers in the region. As a result, they are able to source from vineyards across the Côtes du Rhône and choose plots based on the different attributes each parcel of fruit will bring to the blend.
About Julien Dugas: The other half of the Boutinot winemaking team with Eric Monnin, Julien is based permanently in Cairanne and works closely with Eric. After gaining qualifications in oenology and viticulture in 1997, Julien's career consists of crafting wine in many of the key villages and cru of the Southern Rhône, including Rasteau, Gigondas, Séguret, Ventoux, Vacqueyras and Châteauneuf-du-Pape (at Domaine le Vieux Télégraphe) as well as further afield in South Africa.
Julien describes himself as ‘a man on the ground.’ He is always close to the source of his wines and appreciating that this is the key to fantastic wine. It is this shared philosophy, which drives the style and quality of Belles Lettres.
