Romain Le Bars 2022 'Nouveau Nez' Red VDF (Rhone/Gard) Login In Stock

Romain Le Bars is one of the dynamic young vignerons—alongside talents like Valentin Valles, Sébastien Chatillon, Gregory Guillaume, and Charles Soulier—making waves in Southern Rhône and Gard, firmly establishing the region on the natural wine map.

Romain began his winemaking journey with his first harvest in 2018, working a tiny 1.5-hectare vineyard. Before striking out on his own, he spent seven years under the tutelage of legendary Tavel winemaker Eric Pfifferling of Domaine L’Anglore, a profound influence that is unmistakable in his wines. Since his debut vintage, Romain has gradually expanded his holdings, but production remains minuscule and highly sought after.

Romain’s wines are predominantly Grenache and Syrah blends, vinified with a focus on vibrancy and finesse. Utilizing carbonic maceration or direct press techniques, the wines are aged in used wood barrels, ensuring light, aromatic expressions with a lively energy. They are quintessential zero-zero wines—made without intervention, free of additives, and crafted with a pure, unfiltered approach. With each vintage, Romain’s reputation continues to grow, as his rare and limited-production wines have already developed a devoted following. Romain Le Bars is undoubtedly a name to watch—an exciting new voice in natural wine and a rising star whose journey is just beginning.
