Majer Zemianske Sady is a family-owned estate with a rich history of winemaking in Zemianske Sady near Hlohovec, dating back to 1912. Originally, the estate was primarily a tobacco farm that also produced wines, which gained popularity locally and were cherished by the art community in Prague under the trademark "K trom boxerom" (Three Boxers). However, production ceased during WWII and subsequent political turmoil, and it wasn’t until 1997 that the estate resumed winemaking, now under the stewardship of the fourth and fifth generations.

The vineyards were revitalized, and the cellar was meticulously reconstructed, leading to the release of the first vintage in 2010 under the name Slobodné Vinárstvo, meaning "free winery." In 2016, the estate embraced environmentally conscious farming practices across its 17 hectares and joined the oldest biodynamic farmers association in Austria.

The estate prioritizes maintaining a healthy soil climate, which they believe is essential for producing exceptional wine. Bees are kept, and herbs are cultivated to enrich the soil naturally. Dedicated to minimal intervention winemaking, the estate allows the grapes to ferment naturally with native yeasts and avoids modern additives. They craft their orange wines using Kvevri, traditional clay amphorae from Georgia. The vineyard is home to grape varieties that are historically rooted in the region and well-suited to its climate, including Lemberger Blue, Grüner Veltliner, Rhine Riesling, Red Traminer, Devin, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Alibernet.
