Vineyard Notes: The Cavarchione Vineyard is located in Gaiole. The 6 hectares were planted partly in 2009 and partly in 2010.

Winemaking Notes: The grapes are manually harvested. Alcoholic fermentation lasts between 15-20 days in concrete tanks at a controlled temperature. Maceration lasts for 45 days. The wine ages for 12 months in 20hl or 30hl Slavonian oak with minimal intervention. It then rests in bottle at the winery for 1 year before release.

Tasting Notes: Ripe berry fruit shines on the nose with an edge of dried violets and spice. The palate shows fruit and savoriness. It has a beautiful tannic structure.

    The 2020 Chianti Classico Vigna Cavarchione is positively stellar in 2020. Ample and rich, yet with plenty of Istine classicism, the Cavarchione has all the potential to be one of the top wines of this very young vintage. All the elements come together effortlessly. Black cherry, plum, sage, lavender, licorice and incense build over time, filling out the layers nicely. The complexity here is just unreal.

    Lush, yet with an edge of dusty tannins framing cherry, strawberry, rose and earth flavors. Shows strong grip on the finish, along with a beam of vibrant acidity and a lingering aftertaste of red fruit. Leans to the elegant side. Best from 2025 through 2042.
