Terroir Notes: In 1999, Bertrand Sourdais discovered a unique area within the DO Ribera del Duero, San Esteban de Gormaz. The vineyards in this geography are in the easternmost part along the shores of the Duero River as it passes through the province of Soria. The climate generates a special microcosm and is based on the characteristics of a clayey, porous terrain with calcareous and sandy mixtures.
Winemaking Notes: Fruit was manually harvested from a mosaic of 550 plots of many ungrafted vines (30-100 years old). Grapes macerated for 6 days before being pressed into French oak for maturation. Wine spent 8 months in 600-liter French oak (15% new oak). It is bottled unfined.
Tasting Notes: Antidoto Ribera del Duero is bright and open with floral aromas and notes of dark, red fruit. The sandy soil with river stones provides Antidoto with an intense and spring-like aroma and a delicate and vertical mouthfeel. It is balanced with a medium body and perfect for sharing with friends.
