In 2012, when Kelly Foley barrel-tasted and discovered the differences between each mountain-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon block and those of the Valley floor, she selected this Atlas Peak cuvée to be bottled separately.
Vineyard Notes: Atlas Peak is a much cooler growing area with direct maritime influence from both the southwest (San Pablo Bay) and the southeast (Suisun Bay) and the resulting wines develop an elegance, a lightness on their feet and beautiful natural acidity.
Winemaking Notes: The Cabernet Sauvignon was manually harvested. Fruit fermented for ten days and was aged in French Oak barrels.
Tasting Notes: Cherry and spice from the forests, bright acidity and medium body dance on the palate. Red cherry flavors seem to last forever in the finish. This offering is a beautiful example of one of the most successful Cabernets born in high elevation.
