Curious grape varieties from unfamiliar locations represent some of the most exciting wines crafted in California. Such hard-to-find vineyards and rare varieties — like Albariño from Lodi —are quintessential examples of what Field Theory showcases.
Field Theory is made expressly for ABG Wines.
About Ryan Zotovich: Ryan's journey began on his family's vineyard in Los Osos, California, where he honed his skills. Despite initially pursuing computer science, a transformative glass of 1995 Heitz Martha’s Vineyard sparked his passion for winemaking. Under the guidance of the head of Cal Poly’s wine program, Ryan developed a passion for winemaking and worked as an assistant winemaker under Steve Clifton of Palmina and Brewer-Clifton. His journey continued as cellar master at Sea Smoke Cellars under Victor Gallegos and Kris Curran. In June of 2010, Ryan partnered with his uncle Steve to form Zotovich Cellars. Now as the director of winemaking for ABG Wines, Ryan oversees the creation of exceptional wines from diverse varieties and vineyards across California and beyond.
