Cuvee Patricia is a noble late-harvest wine produced from rare Muskotály (Yellow Muscat) grape. Muscat berries, which are heavily affected by botrytis, are grown on the loaf-shaped Danczka hillside in the Tokaj region of Hungary. Cuvee Patricia is only made in special years where the berries are just right.

A soft perfumed Muscat nose guides the wine along a contemplative journey full of exotic fruit flavors with delightful fleshiness and charming acidity on the palate. This stunning dessert wine is named for Tony’s daughter who suggested producing this wine.

    Rating: 90 (12/15/2015)

Medium-sweet, this white offers immediate appeal, exhibiting honey, apricot, beeswax, spice and mineral flavors. Stays fresh, elegant and vibrant on the lingering finish. Drink now through 2020.

    Rating: 92-93 (6/1/2014)

Lovely floral high tones lift aromas of orange blossom, lime, linden tea and spices on the inviting nose. Very sweet but sappy on the palate, with harmonious ripe acidity giving elegance to the juicy mid-palate. Juhász ages this wine in ten-year-old 500- and 200-liter barrels because he does not want to add tannins or oaky flavors. This reminded me of a perfectly balanced sweet wine from Alsace.

    Rating: 93 (5/31/2019)

The golden, sightly orange colored 2012 Tokaji Cuvée Patrícia is unmistakably Muscat (Muskotály in Hungarian), a floral, ethereal Tokaji noble late-harvest wine entirely sourced in the Danczka vineyard with its characteristic heavy clay soils. On the palate, this is such a delicate, fresh and light-footed sweet wine—10% alcohol—with amazing finesse and After-Eight notes. The tannins are nobly bitter yet fine and grippy, and the dark chocolate flavors intermixed with dark mint flavors are just fabulous. The finish is long, firm, salty and full of mineral tension but also finesse. This Muscat is like Mozart's Night Serenade: playful but seriously seductive. The wine was fermented and aged for seven months in 225-liter Hungarian oak barrels.
