About the Name: The G stands for the winemaker's last name, Goenaga, and the number 1200 represents the number of bottles of his first vintage of this wine.

Tasting Notes: Ripe apple, pear, and white fruit intertwine with subtle floral notes. The palate shows a touch of natural carbon dioxide. The palate is soft, fruity, and mineral with structure (weight and width) giving more travel and volume than most Getariako Txakolina. The finish shows lovely fruit and mineral nuances, with a slight bitterness typical of the variety. It is easy to drink while also exceptionally elegant; this white wine will age well. You can find the G1200 in the most prestigious restaurants, such as Pedro Subijana’s 3 Michelin Star Akelarre.

Filtered: No
Yeast: Indigenous

About Getariako Txakolina: Located in Spain’s Basque Country, Getariako Txakolina is one of three Txakoli appellations. Txakoli produces white wine that shares affinities with Vinho Verde of Portugal. These wines are usually sold young, slightly sparkling, and low in alcohol. Getariako Txakolina is the principal appellation with around 400 hectares planted. Around 95% of its vineyards are close to or directly facing the Bay of Biscay, planted on steep slopes. Getariako produces a fresh and crisp white wine with particular saltiness.
