Winemaking Notes: Each grape variety and each terroir are vinified separately. Grapes are harvested at night to preserve their freshness. They are destemmed and macerate for a short time. Fermentation temperature is maintained between 59 degrees Fahrenheit and 64 degrees Fahrenheit to retain fruit aromas. After fermentation, the resulting wines from the different terroirs and grape varieties are blended and aged in stainless steel vats.
Tasting Notes: This wine exhibits red berries and citrus flavors on the nose and palate. It is an elegant rosé combining roundness and freshness. Enjoy the Montrose Rosé chilled on its own or paired with grilled fish, grilled meat, and salads.
Farming Notes: Domaine Montrose is certified HVE 3 (Haute Valeur Environnementale level 3), which is the highest level of France's Environmental Value certification. It is a result of their efforts towards virtuous agriculture: planting 2,000 trees to preserve biodiversity, planting vineyard ground cover, pheromone dispensers, manual weeding, non-irrigated vines, etc. This certification complements their existing carbon neutral approach: to limit their impact on the planet, the Coste family has reduced their CO2 emissions to a minimum. They offset the rest by financing ecological initiatives.
New Label Notes: For some time now, Château Montrose Saint Estèphe has been waging war against Domaine Montrose. Even though we have peacefully coexisted for many decades, the Château has sued them. They want people to believe that Domaine Montrose is taking advantage of their notoriety to sell their wines. The courts have ruled in the Domaine's favor twice, highlighting its lengthy existence and good faith. Domaine Montrose was founded in the 16th century in the Languedoc, while Château Montrose was created from 1820 in Bordeaux. They also make no rosé. To minimize the risk and headache, Domaine Montrose has edited their rosé label to Rosé Mont Rosé.
