Vinification: This wine is not chaptalized. Cold maceration and gradual cooling occurs in order to reach a balance between alcohol and sugar. Maturation happens in stainless steel tanks.

Tasting Notes: This Vouvray is a pale yellow color with green tints. Apricot and pear aromas show on the nose. The wine is balanced on the palate thanks to a natural acidity which brings freshness.

Food Pairings: Blue cheese, Gruyere, carrot-ginger soup, white fish with mango salsa, gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce. Try Linguine with Pears and Gorgonzola

About Vouvray: The Chenin Blanc grape achieves greatness in the Loire Valley, where its intensely aromatic and zippy personality is often balanced with a touch of sweetness. No matter how its vinified, the grape always makes for luscious, interesting wines that often can stand the test of time. Located on the northern bank of the Loire River, the area officially became an appellation in 1936. Clay and gravel make up the top layer of soil, while tuffeau reaches deep below the surface. The cooling effect of the nearby Atlantic helps draw out the natural acidity in this grape.
