Vineyard Notes: Scribe began farming this Carneros vineyard in 2007. The vineyard is planted to equal parts Martini and Pommard clones and is one mile from the Scribe estate. The Huichica loam soil and cool Carneros climate ripen the Pinot Noir at a steady, gradual pace.
Vintage Notes: Sonoma experienced another cool and wet winter which kept the vines dormant through late March/Early April. The springtime brought a mix of heat spells followed by cool and wet weather. Initial predictions were for a later harvest, but the warm summer months hastened the growing cycle of the vines.
Winemaking Notes: Harvesting began on September 2nd. The grapes were fermented with native yeasts and 30% whole clusters. The wine was then aged in 86% neutral and 17% new French oak barrels for 7 months before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Tasting Notes: Wild strawberry, sage and orange blossom
