Vineyard Notes: Tre Stelle is situated in Barbaresco on the south ridge of the Rio Sordo Valley. Cascina delle Rose farms the vines using organic methods; no herbicides are used. A minimal amount of copper sulfates is added only if absolutely necessary, aiming towards as little an environmental impact as possible.

Winemaking Notes: The Nebbiolo grapes are manually harvested and destemmed. The skins remain in contact with the must during native yeast fermentation. Pump overs are used to submerge the skins during the entire fermentation. The grapes are then racked and softly pressed. Fun fact: the skins are taken to a distillery to produce the Cascina delle Rose Grappa. The Langhe Nebbiolo matures in stainless steel; it does not see any oak. Malolactic fermentation occurs at a constant temperature of 20°C. The wine is not filtered or fined.

Tasting Notes: The Cascina delle Rose Langhe Nebbiolo is floral with notes of rose and violet. Seeing no oak, this vibrant wine is fresh on the palate with wonderful texture and silky tannins. It shows Nebbiolo's more elegant and youthful side. There is elegance and persistence. Enjoy this wine with grilled vegetable dishes, charcuterie, white meat like ham, and aged cheeses.

"The Cascina delle Rose 2018 Langhe Nebbiolo is a fun and cheerful wine that shows the playful side of Nebbiolo, a side of the grape we don't often see outside this price point. There is a lot of bright and vibrant fruit with red cherry, sweet almond, licorice and wild herb. The wine is balanced and fresh. I imagine a happy pairing with a dish that sees melted Taleggio or another semisoft cheese."
