Vineyard Notes: Croft Vineyard is truly one of the top white wine vineyard sites in the Willamette Valley. The vineyard is located southwest of the Eola Hills near the town of Monmouth. The organically farmed Croft Vineyard is in the foothills of the coast range and grown in ancient marine sediment soils. Owned by Chancy and Toni Croft and farmed by Lee Croft, Jay Somers has been working with the Sauvignon Blanc since 1999. The 2004 Croft Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc he made won best white wine of the year in Sunset Magazine and has been a little bit of a cult wine ever since. Jay works with 1 acre of the Clone 1 Sauvignon Blanc.

Wine Notes: Fermented in 100% stainless steel, this wine has beautiful aromatics (lemongrass, lime zest, crisp apple) with ripe fruit on the midpalate and mouthwatering acidity.

    Rating: 92 (9/3/2020)

Bright and focused on the incisive nose, displaying lime zest, green apple, honeysuckle and dusty mineral scents, along with a touch of succulent herbs. Dry and lively on the palate, offering intense citrus and orchard fruit flavors that betray no excess weight. Closes on a stony note, delivering strong, floral-driven persistence. All stainless steel.

(Editors' Choice!) Jay Somers, who has worked with Croft fruit for the past 20 years, launches his new brand with this outstanding Sauvignon Blanc. Powerful flavors of grapefruit, pineapple and gooseberry pierce through with peppery thistle. The flavors are crisp, lingering and beautifully defined.
