Winemaking Notes: The grapes are manually harvested. The bunches are destemmed and transferred to stainless steel for spontaneous fermentation that lasts about 10-15 days. After primary fermentation, the grapes are gently pressed in a hydraulic press (basket press) and transferred to stainless steel to age for 6 months on fine lees. Malolactic fermentation occurs. The wine is bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with low sulfites.
Tasting Notes: The Cirelli Montepulciano is deliciously fresh with bright red fruit. The palate is soft, round, and full-bodied. Best enjoyed with spicy salami, pasta dishes, red meats and semi-cured cheeses.

"Freshly pressed blackberries, cherries and cranberries take on earthy elements of crushed herbs and gravel in this amphora-aged Montepulciano. There's a polished, supple feel to the berry fruit on the medium-bodied palate, with streaks of crushed mineral and earthy spice lending depth. The finish lingers long on a bright cherry-skin note."
