All of the vineyards have different features, but what they have in common is the elevation of around 500 meters (1,640 feet). The soil is mostly limestone and alberese. The age of the vines vary between 10 to 32 years old.
Winemaking Notes: The grapes are manually harvested. Maceration lasts for 21 days in stainless steel. Malolactic fermentation occurs partly in stainless steel and partly in oak. Istine Chianti Classico spends 12 months in used Slavonian oak.
Tasting Notes: The 2017 vintage has bright fruit and fresh tannins; very delicious! This Istine Chianti Classico is open and ready to drink.
93pts (2016 Vintage) Wine Spectator 1/31/2020
"Broad and rich, this Chianti Classico boasts black cherry, blackberry, violet and woodsy underbrush notes. Turns taut and sinewy, flexing tannic might on the finish. Food or a little bottle age will help. Best from 2022 through 2036."
