Fiano is among Italian noble grape varieties with very good aging possibilities. It is cultivated all over Campania and results are very different according to the terroir. Nembo Fiano is clean and elegant with fresh white floral notes upon release; the wine turns more mineral with almond notes as it ages. The name Nembo – archaic name for clouds – refers to the vineyard altitude where it is cultivated.

Pale straw-green. Aromas of hay, yellow apple and fresh citrus. Then a bit simple and dilute in the mouth, with flavors similar to the aromas.

    Rating: 90 (5/7/2020)

The 2018 Fiano Nembo is quite restrained at first, slowly opening in the glass to reveal a spicy display of Fiano fruit, as aromas of young peach and pear give way to crushed stone minerality and dusty dried florals. On the palate, soft textures usher in mineral-tinged orchard fruits, with an almost salty, savory quality. The finish is long, as residual acids sizzle upon the senses, resonating on savory spice with hints of green citrus. It’s a wine that really grows on you the longer it sits in the glass.
