The Furstentum Vineyard: The Furstentum vineyard is composed of calcareous soil consisting of a pebbly structure. The vineyard is south-facing and sloping, providing exposure to the sun and resulting in a unique Mediterranean-like flora. This terroir produces full-bodied, age worthy wines with complex and powerful aromatics.
Winemaking Notes: Fermentation occurred spontaneously with indigenous yeast. The wine was vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats.
Tasting Notes: Paul Blanck's 1998 Riesling Furstentum is a brilliant shade of yellow, with abundant, thick tears. On the nose, aromatics include honeysuckle, lime and a whiff of banana. On the palate, the wine coats your palate with notes of creamy fruit and cinnamon flavors. This is a concentrated, lively wine with a long finish.
