The Brand brothers studied in the Loire with the likes of Jousset and came back to Germany to make the country's first pét-nat. They are sort of the Dom Pérignon of pét-nat in Germany.
Winemaking Notes: The grapes are harvested by hand. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeast. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered. No sulfites are added with the total amount equaling 14 mg/L at bottling.
Tasting Notes: Limestone soils in the cool northern Pfalz offer this wine intense aromatics and a lithe, lithe structure. The Brand Pétillant Naturel Blanc has aromas and flavors of stone fruit, green apple, sourdough and brioche. There is a salinity that comes through. It is a dry sparkling wine with great freshness; it's uncompromisingly delicious.
