Vineyard Information: Vineyards are sustainably farmed without irrigation.

Winemaking Notes: Grapes are harvested and sorted by hand. They are 100% destemmed. Fermentation occurs with proprietary yeast in 1.25 ton open-top fermenters, pumped over twice daily for the first three days then punched down twice daily. The wine matures in French, neutral oak for 10 months. It is bottled without filtration or fining.

Tasting Notes: This Pinot Noir is alive and fresh with layers of complex flavors. Bright and aromatic with red cherry, sour cherry, and spice moving to riper mouth-filing fruit with juicy acid and succulence on the finish.

About the Label: The Evesham Wood labels feature a subtle and elegant emblem of spring in the Willamette Valley–the Pacific Dogwood flower. This noble tree represents one facet of Oregon's rich natural heritage that deserves to be protected by responsible land management practices.

90pts (2016 Vintage) Vinous 6/13/2019
" Smoke-accented raspberry, cherry and floral pastille scents show good clarity and pick up notes of licorice and woodsmoke with air. Sweet and expansive in the mouth, offering juicy red fruit flavors that show gentle spiciness and a hint of smoky minerality. Fresh and lively in character, finishing with firm, spicy thrust and silky, even tannins."

A brambly and briary nose with bracken and red to dark forest berries on offer. The palate has a fine, crisp and smooth delivery of redder-fruit flavors with cocoa and fine, succulent tannins to close. Good-value pinot here. Drink or hold.
