Vineyard Notes: Pinot Noir grapes for the Migrante come from the same vineyard as the Montsecano Refugio, a mix of two clones planted to less than 4 hectares. The Malbec comes from a 0.9-hectare plot close to the Casablanca Valley.
Winemaking Notes: Only native yeasts are used during spontaneous fermentation (no temperature control). The wine is aged in concrete eggs for 10-11 months before bottling. No sulfites are added except for a tiny amount (19 mg/L) at bottling.
Tasting Notes: Migrante is Montsecano’s most atypical wine, mainly due to the Malbec in the blend, which supplies silkier tannins. Enjoy notes of sweet spices, violets, and tobacco leaves. In the mouth, it has a deliciously round body and a finish of black fruits.
