Wine Notes: The 2014 continues to prove in bottle what a unique, delicious site Brosseau is for making Californian sparkling wine. The soils of limestone mixed with decomposed granite are unique and provide this wine’s signature texture. The wine smells like the drive up to the vineyard, combining pit fruits with laurel bay, pink peppercorn, and mountainous scrub. There is more lift and elegance in the 2014 than in previous years. 2014 is the fourth vintage from the site. This wine will benefit from some time in the cellar.
Vineyard Notes: Brosseau Vineyard is located at 1,800 feet elevation in the Gabilan Mountains. Planted in the shadows of Pinnacles National Park, the vineyard is a twisting and steep drive from the town of Soledad. The own-rooted vines were planted in 1980 on a sexy mix of limestone and granite. This is a most distinctive site.
