Winemaker Notes: Dropped by gravity straight to the press, this Chardonnay's fruit was squeezed directly to barrel, chilled and inoculated with Chardonnay 3079 yeast. Primary fermentation started and completed in barrel with secondary fermentation started but not completed, leaving about 35% malic acid left before bottling.
Tasting Notes: Apple crisp, grandma's Holiday divinity and apricot aromas lead to Golden Delicious apple, butterscotch, ripe pear and macadamia nut flavors with brilliant acidity, inviting tannins and a rich finish. The best of both worlds of Chardonnay, this wine is barrel-fermented and aged in neutral French oak to highlight the fruit and add complexity.

"Appealing aromas of pear, tangerine and papaya are followed by broad orchard-fruit flavors on the palate. A zing of acidity ups the interest. It's a pleasing interpretation of the variety, with the oak dialed way back."

"The 2018 Chardonnay is an attractive, nicely balanced Chardonnay offering medium-bodied notes of citrus and tart peach as well as a hint of white flowers. It has a touch of background oak, terrific balance, and is solid stuff. It should keep for a couple of years."
