Winemaker Notes: The fruit for this 2014 Pinot Noir came from the certified organic Le Puits Sec Vineyard, sourced from 28 year old vines. Harvested occurred in mid-September of 2015. The grapes macerated for 21 days, seeing a twice-daily pump over for two days followed by a twice-daily punch down. The wine aged in 10% new oak for 18 months. It was bottled without fining or filtering.
Tasting Notes: There is a density of fruit and tannin in this 2014 Cru wine. Plum, violet, forest floor and dried Provencal herbs flows to more plum with raspberry coming in and finishing with a firm, but medium weight, potpourri, and a touch of dried leaves.
