Terroir: The name 7 Crus refers to its origins in the seven villages of Avize, Cramant, Oger, Oiry, Avenay Val d’Or, Bergères-les-Vertus and Mardeuil (a mix of Grand Crus and 1er Crus). The wine is a blend of two different years; this cuvée (2018 release) is made up of 60% of the 2015 1er Cru harvest and 40% of the 2014 Grand Cru harvest (reserve wines raised in demi-muids).

Winemaking Notes: Grapes are manually harvested and pressed with a Coquard press. Fermentation occurs naturally with native yeast. Agrapart 7 Crus completes malolactic fermentation. It is bottled without fining or filtration and ages on the lees between 20 and 32 months. Riddling is manual. Wine is disgorged 60 days prior to release. Dosage is limited to 7 grams per liter. Total sulfites in the wine are less than 50 mg/L.

Tasting Notes: 7 Crus NV Brut is a superb Champagne with good energy and freshness. Structured minerality creates length and cut. It is a beautiful capture of top quality Chardonnay in the Côte des Blancs.

  • Vinous
    Rating: 91 (12/1/2017)

Agrapart's NV Brut Blanc de Blancs 7 Crus 1er Cru is surprisingly open in this release, most likely a reflection of the 50% 2015 juice in the blend. Resonant, expressive and giving, the 7 Crus will be very easy to drink young. Lemon peel, flowers and chamomile flesh out in the glass, but it is the wine's ripe personality and suppleness that stand out most. What a pretty wine this is. I don't remember the 7 Crus ever being this radiant, even after the 10% Pinot was added to the blend a few years ago. Disgorged: June 2017. Dosage is 7 grams per liter.
  • The Wine Advocate
    Rating: 92 (8/30/2019)

Agrapart's NV Brut 7 Crus now routinely includes some 10% Pinot Noir, and the latest rendition is based on the 2016 vintage, supplemented by fully 40% from 2015. This bottle was disgorged in May 2019 with seven grams per liter dosage. Offering up aromas of rips citrus fruit, yellow apples and white flowers, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and vinous, with a comparatively open-knot, fleshy profile, concluding with a chalky and precise finish.
