This signed and numbered, limited edition blend is perfect for sipping or on ice. Its color, fine brushed leather with a golden luster, promises a sublime experience. Built upon Old New Orleans classic 10-Year, think single malt scotch as you get hints of vanilla, burnt orange and spice. Its finish is dry, with a whisper of caramel. Only a company that has produced superior rum for two decades can present such an immediate classic.
History of the 10-Year Rum: In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the staff of Celebration Distillation returned to their distillery to find it had flooded. The water had reached heights of up to eight feet. As the tale is now told, bobbing up and down amidst the debris in these flood waters were numerous barrels of older stock that had essentially been forgotten. The rum in some of these casks had been aging for 10 years, and as Celebration put itself back together, 17 of these barrels were blended into a single rum.
About Old New Orleans: In 1995, when Old New Orleans got their distiller’s license, no one else in the Continental U.S. was making rum. Today, they produce the highest rated rum in America. The quality starts at home using only locally-sourced Louisiana sugar cane. The rum then ages in charred American white oak casks that formerly produced fine bourbons, whiskies and sherries. The master distiller selects from seven different vintages, some of these early creations pre-date Katrina, and crafts spirits that celebrate over 20 years of joyful distilling.
