Lia’s Vineyard is a superb site that has volcanic soil and produces wines with very pretty fruit and an elegant structure. Jay calls it “the Abbey Ridge of Chehalem Mountain.”

Tasting Notes: Lia's Vineyard is dry farmed. Lia’s Vineyard lies just up the hill from Olenik on Chehalem Mountain, but has a completely different style. It has a full, juicy mid-palate, but remains seductively elegant, with a complex interplay of fruit and minerality. The finish is long and tinged with spices. A gorgeous wine!

Winemaking Notes: 100% destemmed, 2.5-ton fermenters; native yeasts; unforced malolactic fermentation; 20 months in barrique (25% new oak).

Lurid red. Highly perfumed black raspberry, cherry cola and floral scents are complemented by hints of white pepper and cola, and a mineral element adds nerve and lift. Sappy, deeply concentrated but lively red fruit liqueur, mocha and floral pastille flavors are accented by a touch of allspice on the back half. Closes silky, sweet and very long, delivering impressive clarity and smooth tannins that fade slowly into the juicy fruit.
