De la Finca sparkling wine is made with grapes from Raventós' oldest vines, planted using the gobelet system in 1964 in the Vinya dels Fòssils.

2017 Vintage Notes: After a 2016 vintage with the lowest rainfall recorded in the last 50 years (283.5 mm), a promising autumn and winter came with 320.8 mm of rain. March and April with 124 mm of rainfall helped the plant to have a good vegetative development. The growing season was short, and harvest started earlier than ever before. They finished the estate harvest on August 30 with the Xarel-lo from the Noguer Vineyard. It was healthy with concentrated, rounded wines with good acidity. The plant managed to recover from the drought of the 2016 vintage.

Viticulture Notes: While this is certified organic, the Raventós go a bit further and practice biodynamic farming to create a balanced ecosystem. Vineyards have spontaneous plant covers, which gives biodiversity, fertility, and life to the soil. Manure from their animals is composted in winter. They use plant infusions as phytotherapy to minimize the use of copper and sulfur. They control Lobesia Botrana (grapevine moth) via sexual confusion.

Vinification Notes: Grapes are manually harvested with strict selection. They enter into the cellar by gravity. The grapes are slowly pressed at a low temperature to obtain white must from red grapes. Static racking occurs at low temperatures. First fermentation in cement tanks at controlled temperature, separating varieties and soil types. The wines are blended and bottles for secondary fermentation. The tirage sugar is organically certified cane sugar. No expedition liquor is added. Raventós De La Finca ages for a minimum of 30 months in the bottle. Disgorgement date is indicated on the back label.

Gold Medal for World Wine Awards 2021! Intense honey, pear skin, apple and citrus fruit nose. Elegant and toasty in the mouth with a mineral-salty character. Long, expressive finish. A beautiful wine. Second glass please!

Translucent straw-yellow. Lively and sharply focused on the nose, displaying fresh Anjou pear, orange and floral scents and a smoky mineral topnote. Juicy, spice-tinged citrus and orchard fruit and honeysuckle flavors show excellent clarity, deepening and taking on a touch of buttered toast with air. Fleshy and concentrated yet energetic as well, finishing impressively long and gently chewy, with resonating mineral and smoky lees notes.

This sparkler has an appealing toasty edge, with fresh, nicely balanced layers of pineapple, smoke, almond and brioche flavors. The mousse shows finesse. Xarel-lo, Macabeo and Parellada. Disgorged August 2020.
