Tasting Notes: Bonavita only produces two wines, and this insanely delicious rosato is one of them. Typically, Bonavita's rosatos are closer in body to a light red (think Poulsard), but the 2018 vintage (humid and wet) produced a wine that is light and bright on the palate. Citrus and salty tones mix with hints of raspberries. A long savory vein shows on the finish. Pair this really good rosato with fresh summer vegetable and fish dishes.

About the Label: Giovanni Scarfone has added an image of his father on the 2018 label to honor his father's memory.

"This mouthwatering rosé from Sicily is zippy with notes of cherries and raspberries. It’s a serious wine."

Bright medium-light red. Slightly reticent aromas of herbs and red fruit initially, then opens with aeration to offer enticingly ripe, almost decadent red cherry and raspberry nectar aromas. Enters big and juicy, offering multilayered flavors of ripe red berries and cherries, then sleeker in the middle, offering a strong mineral underpinning along with hints of almond paste and lemon peel. Finishes with noteworthy tannic bite and lots of freshness and an intense note of cherry nectar. Another standout Rosato from Bonavita, in my opinion one of Italy’s 10 best Rosato producers.
