About Lugana: Lugana is a small wine region in Northern Italy that is located along the southern banks of Lake Garda, which is close to Verona. Lugana focuses on a white grape called Turbiana. The Turbiana grape is a thick-skinned, late ripening variety that has many faces and styles. For the longest time, it was thought to be a variant of Trebbiano called Trebbiano di Lugana. Then, a researcher discovered that it was indeed not Trebbiano. DNA profiling in 2008 showed that Turbiana is in fact Verdicchio.

Winemaking Notes: The grapes are sourced from 22-year-old vines. They are manually harvested into boxes and softly pressed into stainless steel tanks. The Turbiana grapes are processed whole to preserve the typical characteristics and maximum aromas of this native grape. Fermentation takes place in steel at a low temperature, on the lees for a period of 3 or 4 months.

Tasting Notes: The Lugana has a light bouquet of white flower and white-fleshed fruit. This wine has a remarkable drinkability.
