Terroir Notes: The Mourvedre is from the Sumu Kaw Vineyard at 3,000 feet on volcanic loam soils.
Winemaking Notes: Whole cluster Mourvedre grapes were foot stomped and loaded into the press for a long, gentle pressing. The juice was put immediately into puncheons for barrel fermentation with ambient yeast. Malolactic fermentation occurred spontaneously. The puncheons were combined and left to rest for 10 months before bottling. Then the wine rested in the cellar until spring 2019 release.
Tasting Notes: The wine shows classic Mourvedre rosé notes of strawberry leaf, cranberry, and slight earthiness. The flavors are round and rich without being overbearing. The finish is long and graceful with lovely acidity. You'll definitely want a second (and third) glass!
