"erfumed aromas of violet, rose and red berries. Then saline and savory herbs complement red berry flavors boasting very good inner-mouth perfume if not mind-boggling concentration or complexity. Closes long and mineral."

The COS 2016 Pithos Rosso is bright and luminous with a very buoyant and direct delivery of aromas. It feels like there could be a vague spot of volatile acidity, but this serves to prop up (in Italian: "dare spalla") the careful intensity of this fragile and elegant bouquet. This wine is fermented in clay amphorae. This vintage results in a lean and elegantly streamlined mouthfeel.
