Fruit Source: Müller has the rare distinction of being comprised of Müller-Thurgau sourced from not only Baden but also from Stefan Steinmetz who is a respected grower in the Mosel. Undoubtedly this accounts for the wine’s extra blast of energy and high-toned kick. About 70% of the Müller is from Stefan.
Winemaking Notes: All vineyard work is organic and biodynamic and done by hand. The Baden fruit fermented with indigenous yeast for 3-4 days on its skins while the Mosel fruit saw just one day on its skins. The Baden fruit was not filtered as well as underwent malolactic fermentation. The Mosel fruit was filtered and did not undergo malolactic fermentation. Both aged for about 8-9 months on the lees. Low sulfites were added at bottling.
Tasting Notes: This is a fun wine with complex aromas and flavors. Enjoy ripe pineapple, quince, kumquat, hazelnut, and hints of malt. The wine is structured with wonderful texture and acid.
