Vineyard Notes: The fruit is sourced from a selection of grapes from vineyards located on the northern, south-eastern and south-western slopes of Mount Etna. The vines are trained with free standing bush (“alberello”) and spurred cordon systems. Their ages range between 10 to 60 years.

Winemaking Notes: Grapes are manually harvested during October and softly pressed. Fermentation occurs at a controlled temperature in stainless steel vats with a 20-day long maceration using patented selected indigenous yeasts. About 80% of the wine then matures in stainless steel tanks while about 20% matures in used French oak barriques for 8-10 months.

Tasting Notes: This is a lean wine with deep minerality. Simply delicious! This is a versatile wine that will pair easily with most dishes.

91pts (2017 Vintage) Wine Advocate 10/17/2019
"The 2017 Etna Rosso (made with 80% Nerello Mascalese and 20% Nerello Cappuccio) offers a very smoky and ashy bouquet that tells you, without any doubt, that this is a wine from the mighty Etna volcano. Rose petal and light berry aromas blur and soften the lines of those pretty mineral notes that are so strong at the beginning. Blue violets and blueberries are delicate accents that fill out the close. This vintage really pulls it all together nicely, a great pairing for pappardelle with wild chanterelle mushrooms."

"A medium-bodied red, with a crisp tannic frame, this offers bright raspberry and strawberry fruit, revealing an underlay of fresh earth, spice and dried herb notes. Bright and elegant. Drink now through 2024."

Luminous, very pretty deep red color. Fresh red cherry, berries and flint on the enticing nose. Then crisp and juicy with lively herbal and floral nuances to the red cherry fruit flavors. Finishes long and vibrant with hints of fresh ginger and minerals. A lovely entry-level wine.
