Baron Filippo Cornacchia started growing Montepulciano vines at the end of the 19th century and is considered the pioneer in the aging and bottling of Montepulciano in Abruzzo.

Winemaking Notes: The grapes are grown using certified organic practices. Harvest is manual and takes place in the first half of October. Maceration on the skins lasts for 5 to 6 days in a horizontal tank with a daily pump over. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel. Wine ages for 6 to 8 months in 30-hectoliter Slavonian oak casks, followed by an additional 3 months in bottle.

Tasting Notes: A complex bouquet shows notes of cassis, plum, dark cherry, and herbs. This is a deep wine with tannins that fill the mouth and begs to be paired with meat. A thread of acidity harmonizes the wine's intensity. Finish is long and smooth. This is Italy in a glass!

Smoky, flinty red cherry and herbs on nose and palate. Clean and bright, featuring round tannins and a long, tactile finish. Simple but offers lots of juicy early appeal and sneaky concentration. Made with organically grown grapes.
