Vineyard Notes: Enderle and Moll's vines are among the oldest Pinot Noir vines in Baden. The Basis Pinot Noir is made from their youngest vines, which are still over 30 years old. Enderle and Moll farm all the vineyards organically and biodynamically. Absolutely everything is done by hand in the vineyards, which are quite steep.

Winemaking Notes: Enderle and Moll take a more hands-off approach to winemaking than most of their neighbors who have transitioned to more modern methods and technology. Much of the fruit is foot-stomped, and they use a mixture of whole-cluster bunches and destemmed clusters. The natural fermentation takes two to three weeks before the pressing with an old, horizontal screw press. They have a direct line on barrels from a small Burgundy estate called Domaine Dujac which range from one to over five years of age. The must runs straight into the used barriques. The 2015 vintage also saw some Bordeaux barrels. The wine is neither fined nor filtered.

Mainly from purchased grapes, the 2015 Pinot Noir opens with very clear, fresh and precise sour cherry aromas with a perfect ripeness. Medium-bodied and round, with good intensity and a fleshy texture, as well as fine tannins, this charmingly sweet, silky textured and finesse-driven wine reveals good grip and lovely freshness.
