Pascal Agrapart is the driving force behind Agrapart & Fils, and a vigneron in every sense. From natural farming to technical acumen, he is considered an inspiration and mentor to many young grower producers taking over from their fathers, embracing the grower model, and taking full advantage of the current golden age in Champagne.

Pascal has rebranded some of the Agrapart & Fils cuvées under his name to signify the wines in which he is solely responsible in crafting.

Although he has no interest in obtaining certification, all of the vineyards are farmed organically with biodynamic influences. All the work is done by hand. The soil in Avize consists of chalky limestone with varying amounts of clay, and each site expresses a unique terroir.

Peter Liem, ChampagneGuide.net
"Agrapart’s wines are of uniformly excellent quality, with a naturally vibrant and vinous character that makes them feel grown rather than made. They are marked by a vivid, intense expression of terroir, and they always demonstrate an impeccable sense of balance: the wood is never intrusive, and the dosage, which is done with a traditional liqueur d'expédition of cane sugar, is always expertly judged."

"Serious and softly spoken, Pascal Agrapart is one of the Côte de Blancs's finest vignerons, and I have long admired the chiseled but powerful wines he produces from his organically farmed vineyards. Old vines, ripe grapes, alcoholic and malolactic fermentation with ambient microflora and élevage of vins clairs in tank and seasoned demi-muids are the rudiments of his approach."

  • Pascal Agrapart NV 'Complantee' Extra Brut, Champagne Grand Cru AOC
    Vinous
    Rating: 93 (12/1/2017)

The NV Extra Brut Complantée Grand Cru is another deeply intriguing, compelling wine from Pascal Agrapart. The blend of six varieties, planted and vinified together, yields a fascinating and wonderfully complex Champagne. Aromatically nuanced and textured on the palate, the Complantée offers a striking interplay of sensations. The presence of red grapes is felt in the wine's flavor profile and overall feel. Best of all the Complantée will be ready to drink pretty much upon release. The Complantée is sourced from a tiny parcel measuring just 0.2 hectares in the La Fosse lieu-dit in Avize. Disgorged: June 2017. Dosage is 5 grams per liter.

    Rating: 92+ (8/30/2019)

A cuvée intended to validate Agrapart's contention that terroir trumps cépage, the latest rendition of the NV Extra Brut Grand Cru Complantée is based on the 2016 vintage, complemented by 20% of 2015, and it was disgorged in May 2019 with five grams per liter dosage. Revealing lovely aromas of crisp yellow pear, blanched almonds, white flowers and citrus oil, it's medium to full-bodied, incisive and energetic, with good depth and concentration and a long finish.
