The hills are a live with the sound of Cortese.
Molinetto is situated in Francavilla Bisio, where the hills of Piedmont meet the sea breeze. The winery and farm was left to Diego Carrea a few years back by his father. At the time of his father's passing, Diego was pursuing a different career, far from the world of wine in which he grew up. With seven hectares of Cortese vines in the jewel of Gavi, Diego’s choice was not hard. He moved back to the farm to continue his father’s legacy.
Growing and crafting organic wine in the beautiful hills of Piedmont, with cool sea air and soil rich in history, is Diego's world now. He only produces two Gavi DOCG wines from the Cortese grape. The Gavi DOCG is an elegant and straight-forward wine that is aged in stainless steel. The Re·lys Gavi DOCG is cultivated from historical vineyards dating back to 1964. Terroir is the focus; and the result are two Cortese wines worth singling about—fragrant and fruity, soft and elegant with Re·lys showing deeper complexity.
The company is part of the prestigious Consortium of Gavi, which certifies the quality, reliability and transparency in the production process.
